Pastor Jonathan McReynolds
Pastor McReynolds received his elementary and secondary education in the public school systems of Louisville, Kentucky, Birmingham, Alabama and Paducah, Kentucky. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Organizational Management, from the historic Wilberforce University in Wilberforce, Ohio. He is also an Executive Studies Graduate of Harvard University Divinity School, Cambridge, Massachusetts, with a concentration in Church-Based Economic and Community Development. He is also matriculating on a Master of Divinity degree and is looking forward to completion at the Payne Theological Seminary in Wilberforce, Ohio.
Pastor McReynolds is married to the former Princess Brown of Evansville, Indiana and is the proud father of three children. Jontevian Jamel, Adijah Jamori and Prince Jamel. He is a fourth generation minister and his family has a pastoral legacy in the Baptist faith, Christian Methodist Episcopal Church and the Apostolic church.
The Greater Love Baptist Church in Paducah, Kentucky licensed Pastor McReynolds into the gospel ministry in August 1991. The same congregation in December of 1992 ordained him. He has served in various capacities within the Baptist witness. Most notable, he has served as the Congress President of the West Kentucky Green Valley District Association, Assistant Dean of the Kentucky Baptist Missionary and Education Convention, Vice President of the Congress of Christian Education of the Eastern Union Missionary Baptist Association and First-Vice Moderator of the same body and Director of Christian Education for the Full Gospel Baptist Fellowship of Ohio, Columbus, Ohio District. These are only a few of the opportunities he has been blessed with within the Baptist Faith. He has been blessed to preach at local, state and national conventions and associations.
Pastor McReynolds has been very active in civic and community affairs. He was drafted and ran for public office. He has served on the Executive Committee of the Ross County Democratic and Republican Parties. He has received numerous recognitions for his community service. He has also served as a Civil Service Commissioner for the city of Chillicothe, Ohio and served on the Board of Directors for several non-profit organizations. Pastor McReynolds has been blessed in the pastoral ministry. He was called and pastored the Little Missionary Baptist Church of Bandana, Kentucky for nearly four years. That pastorate was his greatest joy in the pastoral ministry. The Lord blessed in their spiritual fellowship to revive the congregation, reach the lost and develop a loving relationship between the pulpit and pew that exist to this day. He faithfully served as pastor of the First Baptist Church of Chillicothe, Ohio for eight years.
The year 2007 became a year of divine destiny when Pastor McReynolds became the sixth pastor of the prestigious Oakley Full gospel Baptist Church of Columbus, Ohio. He is following the pastoral legacy and Apostolic Succession of the Rev. Drs. Julian and Jacob Ashburn and Bishop Andy C. Lewter. The Oakley Full gospel Baptist Church is one of the oldest Baptist congregations in the city of Columbus, Ohio with a rich legacy of ministry and community engagement.
Pastor McReynolds is endeavoring to facilitate pastoral ministry, which will be relevant, empowering and Christ Centered. He is excited about being with the congregation the Holy Ghost empowered and developed him to serve. The Oakley Full gospel Baptist Church has a staff of Elders, Diaconate and many members who faithfully serve the Lord and embrace the pastoral office.
Pastor McReynolds believes in being a practitioner of Galatians 6:10 “As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good to all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.”
