Discipleship Development and Integration
 
PROVIDES ORIENTATION, EDUCATION, AND SUPPORT
 
The Discipleship Development and Integration Ministry, through a 3-step integration process, ensures members’ understanding of the vision and mission of the church.  The integration process includes:
 
Intake – Spiritual recognition by the confession of Faith/Prayer of Repentance/ Restoration/ issuance of New Members guide
 
Transformational Discipleship – Discovering the principles of God’s word/Developing biblical habits/Devoting spiritual gifts, talents and abilities to the glory of God
 
Evangelistic Collaborations – Comprised of in-house ministries committed to participation in biannual outreach projects
 
 
Kingdom Knowledge Center
 

EXPANDS LEARNING AND ENRICHMENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR ITS MEMBERS

The Christian Education Ministry plans and conducts comprehensive Christian Education to achieve the mission of the church and encompasses the following ministries:  Campus Outreach, Children’s Church, Kingdom Knowledge Conference, New Members, Nursery, S.A.I.N.T.S., Scholarship, Singles, Spirited Scrappers, Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and Youth.

New Members
 
ASSISTS IN THE ASSIMILATION OF NEW MEMBERS INTO THE FELLOWSHIP AND MINISTRY OF THE CHURCH
 

The New Members Ministry introduces individuals who are new to the body of Christ and/or new to the Oakley family to basic concepts of Christianity and stirs their desire for continued bible study.

Scholarship
 
SUPPORTS EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES
 
The Scholarship Ministry provides scholarships to members who have demonstrated academic excellence and commitment to service within the Oakley Full Gospel Baptist Church.  Scholarships are awarded each year in June based upon available funds. 
 

REQUIREMENTS FOR STUDENTS:

  1. Must be a high school student graduating during the
  2. 2016-2017 school year.
  3. Must be currently active in a church ministry and active for at
  4. least 3 continuous months.
  5. Must have a GPA of 2.75 or greater and, if applicable, at least
  6. an ACT score of 22/SAT score of 1500.
  7. Must enroll and attend a College/University during the fall of
  8. the school year, and provide evidence of enrollment and matriculation
  9. Must be available for a personal interview and write an essay.
 
 

Singles Ministry

 
PROVIDES FOR THE SPIRITUAL, SOCIAL, AND EDUCATIONAL WELL-BEING OF SINGLE MEMBERS WITHIN THE CHURCH
 
The Singles Ministry promotes the well-being of single members through prayer and the Word of God by way of seminars, social activities, and networking in the community to establish Godly relationships.
 
 
Spirited Scrappers
 
SUPPORTS EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES
 
The Spirited Scrappers Ministry was formed as a way for friends to come together and share their memories with each other. The Spirited Scrappers name represents the religious foundation of the club (Spirited) and the function of the club (Scrappers).
Sunday School
 
PROVIDES A LEARNING OPPOURTUNITY TO THE BODY OF OAKLEY IN A SMALLER CLASSROOM SETTING 
 

The Sunday School Ministry provides religious education to all ages of the church between 9:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. each Sunday morning. The adult classes utilize the Urban Ministry Curriculum and has classes focused on specific books by religious authors. The ministry facilitates the exploration of the Bible and its relevance to life as Christians move from youth to life as an adult.

 
Vacation Bible School
 

SHARES JESUS CHRIST THROUGH AN ANNUAL OUTREACH EVENT

 

Vacation Bible School provides focused-educational opportunities during the month of June through outreach to children and adults in the congregation and community.  The curriculum stimulates spiritual growth by forming a relationship with Christ through study, edifying the church through biblical fellowship, and by encouraging each other to renew spiritual passion and commitment.
